Research interests of the Clarke research group

Homogeneous Catalysis

The majority of the research currently underway is in the multi-disciplinary field of homogeneous catalysis.
The group is interested in developing new catalytic methodology for the synthesis of pharmaceutical intermediates, and bulk or fine chemicals.  The majority of the projects are focussed on greener organic chemistry; aiming to reduce the environmental impact of the synthesis of important building blocks.
We are also interested in organometallic and physical organic chemistry, since to improve or to develop new transition metal catalysed reaction often requires an understanding of the mechanism.
